When you have been struggling with severe gastritis for a very long time you must think about this. The complications that can come along with severe gastritis can be horrible. I will give you a list and a little paragragh of the most common complications that you can get from having gastritis for long periods of time.

1. Stomach Ulcer

So this is really one of those things that you do not want to have. If you have ever actually had a stomach ulcer you might know just how painful it can actually be. Sadly if you do ignore your gastritis for too long this can happen and you can develop multiple ulcers and eventually will need surgery. Please be aware that stomach ulcers can be confused with a ton of different stomach problems so if you think it might be an ulcer go get it checked out by a doctor to make sure.

2. Stomach Bleeding

This might actually seem very scary and terrifying and it should be. Anytime the inside of your body is bleeding is never going to be a good thing. In fact it is far from that, internal bleeding can be very dangerous and be a symptom of something much worse then you might think. Chronic gastritis can show stomach bleeding. If you notice that your bleeding in your stools, urine or vomiting blood. You should go see a doctor immediatley.

3.Cancer

I know this is one of those really terrifying words. But you can never be to sure with these type of things. Cancer is really not something that you want to have. If you have ever had a family member or friend with any type of cancer then you know just how crippling it can be. Fortunatley it is a very rare complication with gastritis and only 2 percent of gastritis patients actually can develop any form of cancer. Just make sure to get it checked out be cause you can never be too careful with this.

now that you know some of the common complications you can know what to possibly expect from chronic gastritis. Make sure that you are always checking with your primary care physician so you can make sure that you are up to date on your problem.
